Slow Food Features Artisan Producers at Molto Vegas Restaurant

LAS VEGAS— Slow Food-Las Vegas, the first Nevada convivium of Slow Food USA, and Molto Vegas Restaurants will be co-sponsoring an 8-course dinner with wine pairings on Tuesday, March 24th. Italian artisan producers along with local farmers will be featured in this Slow Food event that focuses on foods that gave birth to this movement. Producers and chefs will be present to talk about how these foods came about and why they are in danger of being lost.

The Slow Food movement was founded by Carlo Petrini in Italy in opposition to the explosion of fast food restaurants during the 1980s. One of the aims of Slow Food is to preserve and celebrate local cultural cuisines and foods that are being lost at an alarming rate worldwide. The movement also celebrates and encourages small scale producers of regional foods around the world.

The Slow Food dinner will be held at one of Mario Batali’s restaurants located in the Venetian and Palazzo depending on the number attending.

The price is $125 per person offering an 8-course dinner with wine pairings which does not include tax and gratuity. Reserve your space for this event by Friday, March 20, 2009 by calling Kim Esch, Molto Vegas Events Manager at (702) 266-9971, or for more information/directions email Kim at events@moltovegas.com.
